“We had a lot of people from Fort Kent,” Daigle said. “It’s getting bigger every year.”
The fourth annual Festival de Tourisme, which was the weekend of July 21 at the public beach and nearby fields and volleyball courts, included activities such as a four-field volleyball tournament and a Run Around the Beach for walkers, runners and bikers on Saturday.
During the evenings, two orchestras played Friday night, July 20, and two also played Saturday night. Sunday’s events included an afternoon line-dancing program.
Daigle said that the village plans to host the event again next year, and that the proceeds from the annual festival help support the public beach.
