VERNA ANNE BOUCHARD

BRISTOL, CONN. and MADAWASKA - Verna Anne Bouchard, 69, of Bristol, Conn. died peacefully in her home Saturday morning, April 28, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Lester G. “Butch” Bouchard. Verna was born in Madawaska on June 7, 1942, the daughter of the late Henry V. O. Cyr and Lena (Ouellette) Cyr and has lived in Bristol, Conn. for most of her life. She was a housewife whose greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. Verna at one time had been a life insurance underwriter for Aetna. She was also a communicant of St. Matthew Church in Forestville, Conn. Besides her husband, Verna leaves a daughter, Sherry Bouchard-Turcotte and her husband Ghislain of Bristol, Conn.; a son, Wayne Bouchard and his wife Denise of Bristol, Conn.; four brothers, Edwin Cyr of Florida, Emile Cyr of Manchester, Conn., Raymond Cyr of St. Agatha, and Delmer Cyr of Bristol, Conn.; four sisters, Annette Sirois of New Britain, Conn., Jeannette Bouchard of Lille, Diane Bouchard of Bristol, Conn. and Rose Marie Beaulieu of Terryville, Conn.; four grandchildren, Kelly and Andrew Bouchard and Jacob and Morgan Turcotte; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters, Lorraine Corriveau, Bernadette Cyr, Jacqueline Dumond, Florence Roy and Rena Doucette and by a brother, Joseph Cyr. Calling hours were from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave, Forestville-Bristol, Conn. Family and friends proceeded at 11 a.m. to St. Matthew Church, Forestville, Conn. for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, Conn.
