The Broad Reach Fund is providing the financial support for growers in the two counties wishing to attend the Heart of Maine Soils Quality Conference with Dr. Arden Andersen on Nov. 14, 15, 16. Anderson's talk is titled "Grow the food the world wants." A press release by the Heart of Maine Research, Conservation and Development council describes Andersen as a practicing physician and professional crop consultant who is considered a "world leader in biological agriculture."
Growers must make their own arrangements for overnight accommodation.
Requests for financial assistance will be accepted on a first-come, first-served, one-applicant-per-farm basis. In the case of fewer than 24 requests, the fund would allow a second applicant per farm.
